About us

The foundation

K. A. Almgren silk factory & museum has been an independent foundation since 2002. The purpose is to promote cultural heritage care related to industrial history, by being responsible for, preserving, maintaining and making the silk factory available to researchers and the general public, in its purpose-built premises at Repslagargatan 15 in Stockholm.

The foundation receives support from the City of Stockholm and the Stockholm Region. The project Väva in is being carried out with the support of the General Heritage Fund and Vävskifte with support of Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, Nämnden för hemslöjdsfrågor, Brandkontoret and Hantverksakademin.

K. A. Almgren sidenväveri & museum was awarded Working life museum of the year 2024.


The board

The foundation's board consists of people with expertise in areas relevant to the silk factory's business.
Chairman of the board is Ann-Charlotte Backlund.

Staff

The silk factory is led by the CEO and museum director Mari-Louise Franzén.
The staff consists of museum educator Tove Karlsson and museum host Ines Schulz Plaszczyk.
